Vikings newest Nile River ship has reached a key construction milestone.
This week, Viking Thoth touched water for the first time. To celebrate, the company held a traditional float out ceremony at Massara shipyard in Cairo.?
Soon, the ship will head to a nearby outfitting dock for the final stage of construction, including the interior build-out.
The 82-guest Viking Thoth is slated to debut in October, joining seven other Viking vessels in Egypt. Like its sister ships, the new vessel will sail Vikings 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary.
Last month, the company celebrated the float out of another Nile ship, the Viking Amun. Its slated to debut in September.
More broadly, the company plans to have 12 vessels sailing on the Nile by 2027.
