Want to go an adventure you'll never forget? The National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures will leave you awestruck beyond your wildest dreams.
With guided trips around the world, there's something for everyone. G Adventures' co-branded and co-hosted trips with National Geographic Expeditions features 83 different enhanced and upgraded tours around the globe.
Whether you want to get your adventure travel on, experience new cultures or visit tropical paradises, they've got you covered.
The partnership was launched in late 2015, and the first Journeys departed in early 2016. They've been helping create lifelong memories ever since. Travelers will love having experts tour them around amazing locations, as well as being able to have some extended free time to explore on their own.
And perhaps the best part-you're helping change the world.
Per their website, The National Geographic Journeys "help fund G Adventures' community development initiatives worldwide, in addition to supporting the National Geographic Society's non-profit work in conservation, exploration, research, and education."
Experiencing this first hand was incredible.
Since transportation to and from various cities is included, travelers will have more time to explore the destinations they've long been dreaming about. Plus, more meals are included with National Geographic Journeys than other G Adventure tours.
That said, you will still have opportunities to wander around and find a caf or off-the-beaten-path restaurant that you can tell all your family and friends about when you return home.
Oh, and you'll also be staying in much more comfortable accommodations.
Such was the case during my recent 9-day excursion to Morocco, where the hotels were as high class as the Kasbahs. Each place also included free breakfast, WiFi and swimming pools.
Having the luxury of internet access in the Sahara Desert was key, and every place we stayed at served a variety of options for breakfast. One even had a fresh omelet station!
During my connecting flights, I met a traveler also headed to Morocco with G Adventures. However, he was on the classic tour with around a dozen people, and I was on the National Geographic Journey. We ran into each other at various spots throughout Morocco and discussed similarities and differences between our trips.
It was clear that the National Geographic Journey had a few more perks and definitely better lodgings across the nine-day trek.
Ours began with some free time in Casablanca. Later that evening, I would meet the group and our CEO, Mustapha. It's always fun to discover what brings people to travel, and everyone was enthralled at the chance to experience a new culture and see UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We headed east the next morning to see the Royal Stables in Meknes, the Roman ruins of Volubilis and to spend two nights in the imperial city of Fez. While there, we explored the historic medina with a local tour guide and got a firsthand look at the G Adventures for Good project. We all enjoyed an authentic Moroccan meal and had a fun time learning Arabic.
The not-for-profit Planeterra Foundation does tremendous work around the world, and it was a touching to know that everyone on the trip helped support these women and their families. G Adventures is all about doing good work and helping to change people's lives. That was great to see up close throughout this National Geographic Journey.

After Fez, we journeyed to the Sahara Desert and spent the night in a beautiful Kasbah. The National Geographic exclusive was a 4x4 excursion across sand dunes in the desert. Our vehicle ended up getting stuck, but it made for a cool story: Not everyone can say they were literally stuck in the Sahara Desert!
Prior to this, many in the group had voiced their desire to ride a camel. It wasn't included in our tour, but we all had no problem paying extra to experience a ride in the desert. Our wonderful guide Mustapha made it happen, walking alongside us while we rode, even grabbing our cameras to take stellar photos for us on the camel's backs as the sun set behind us.
It was just another example of G Adventures going above and beyond to ensure that their travelers have the best trip possible.
For the remainder of the tour, we traveled through Tinghir, stopping to see the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley. We spent the night at the luxurious Berbere Palace in Ouarzazate, visited the famous A?t Ben Hadou Kasbah (which has been featured in numerous films), drove through the High Atlas Mountains and finished the journey with two nights in Marrakesh.
The highlight of Marrakesh was the Moroccan cooking class, a National Geographic Journey exclusive. It was easily the best meal of our trip. Everything was so fresh, and getting the chance to learn more about the cooking style in Morocco and take home the recipes of our dishes was fantastic.
The entire trip was an unforgettable experience, but then again, that's exactly the goal of the National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures.
Experiencing a new culture, sampling new foods (like goat, kefta, sheep's head) meeting new people, making new friends and creating life-long memories was certainly something to write home about.
