As a travel agent, we need to answer some questions that customers have. Most of these questions are directly related to the interests, budget, and schedules of every customer. Considering that, we are happy to give you some of the key facts for cruising along the Galapagos Island.
For many of us, Galapagos is a synonym of the yacht, turquoise water on the Pacific Ocean, and rare wildlife. That?s why the archipelago has approximately 90 ships for touristic activities from different types, sizes, and characteristics. But, which are the facts involved in choosing a cruise in Galapagos? Here are listed some of these facts:
1) Cruises in Galapagos have specific departure dates that customers need to adapt on.
2) Each cruise offers one or more itineraries that visit specific areas of the archipelago, such as the northern or western side of the islands. Please consider that each island has their own endemic species that probably cannot be found on another island.
3) Cruises navigate from place to place during the night, so during the day is anchored nearby the place of interest.
4) Cruises offer the option to visit many places in a short period of time
5) Cruises offer many facilities to enhance the guest?s experience on board. Some of these are Jacuzzis, al fresco dining areas, living and dining indoor areas, and/or kayaks.

6) Cruises offer all meals onboard, usually drinks are charged separately.
7) The cabins on board the cruise may vary. Some ships have very small and tight cabins but in first class, boutique, and luxury cruises you can find spacious and comfortable cabins. Check the M/Y Galapagos Sea Star Journey to have an idea of this fact.
8) Cruises allow you to visit some islands that cannot be visited on daily tours such as the case of Genovesa Island.
9) Shore excursions imply zodiac rides from the boat to the shore or bay.
10) For those passengers that are sea sickness sensitive, this option may not be suitable for them.
11) Cruises are ideal for meeting and sharing time with people from around the world, as well as family travelers and/or friends.
12) Cruises are more suitable for small groups.
As an additional fact, even though tips are not mandatory, crew members and guides are expecting to receive them, so please advise or consider to bring enough cash for tipping.
