Agent to Agent: Travel Agency Training Programs

Dear Tammy: I've been wanting to learn more about the travel industry and see there are a lot of different types of training programs available. How do I know which one is best? How can I be sure the presenter is truly qualified to train me?

Tammy: Really great question! There are indeed different types of travel training programs available and can, for the most part, be categorized into two different categories. The first category includes training for those who are looking to become a new travel agent and the second includes training for those who are already a travel agent and want to expand on their industry knowledge.

The first thing I want to put out there is that an accredited business should lead any training program. Secondly, it is important when choosing a travel agency training program to make sure that whoever is presenting the program is 100% legitimate.

One of the ways that you can tell this is that they have a huge following. The presenter should be a true travel entrepreneur, which means they have proven themselves in the industry in order to be seen as a qualified and trusted presenter.

While there may be a lot of people who try to create training programs, and for both new travel agents as well as experienced travel agents, many of them simply do not have the credentials necessary. One of the easiest things those who don't have the credentials do is create online training programs, which often do not offer the same training opportunities as live workshops do.

Live workshops always offer the best training opportunities! They offer participants the ability to learn from a real person, who is easily accessible to them when they have questions. They also offer the hands-on training participants deserve, which is a simply unbeatable benefit when it comes to learning about the travel industry.

If you're interested in signing up for a travel-related training program, it really is important for you to choose a program run by a true travel entrepreneur. Going forward in this industry means that you should want to learn from the best, and people who have a history of putting on successful travel agency training programs are better able to move you on to greater success.
