Philadelphia will soon have direct access to Copenhagen with a new flight from American Airlines. Service to Copenhagen's CPH airport launches June 6 on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Once in Copenhagen, travelers have an abundance of things to explore. Landing at the Copenhagen Airport, visitors are an easy 20 minutes from the lively city center. One of Copenhagens major new attractions is the Carlsberg District. The area is centered around the old Carlsberg breweries (dating back to 1847) where visitors can join an interactive brewery history tour, visit the old stables, as well as enjoy beer tastings. The area is also home to a range of new restaurants, bars, and public spaces. In addition, the city is recognized as the UNESCO World Capital of Architecture from 2023 to 2025, and this year is the 20th anniversary of the New Nordic Food Manifesto.
Culinary Excellence
Front and center in Copenhagen is food. In fact, visitors may find themselves eating their way through the city. The inception of the Nordic Food Manifesto in 2004 by visionary Nordic Chefs laid the groundwork for the contemporary and groundbreaking Nordic cuisine that visitors to the city savor today. Cuisine is an attraction throughout Denmark and, in Copenhagen, travelers will find an abundance of culinary-related activities. From bar crawls created by top sommeliers to Michelin-starred dining experiences, Copenhagen is a feast for the taste buds.
Charming Neighborhoods
Beyond culinary pursuits are Copenhagen's charming neighborhoods. Quintessential to any Copenhagen trip are the three "bros:" Vesterbro, Norrebro and Osterbro. Vesterbro was once known as the city's red light district but has evolved to blend family living with hip nightlife, fashionable boutiques and more. Norrebro is a melting pot of street culture and cuisine. It's where visitors go to enjoy ramen, shawarma and tacos. In Osterbro, travelers will find shopping, parks, trails for bike rides and the perfect place to take a stroll on the waterfront.?
