Sports fans love to travel.
The annual March Madness college basketball tournament is a strong reminder of just how much they love to travel.
Opening round games in Charlotte, Spokane, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn and Omaha will see?an influx of travelers ready to spend money through the weekend.
Regional games are held in Boston, Dallas, Detroit, and Los Angeles. Depending on which teams make it to the Sweet 16, these cities will also see a nice tourism boost this March.
The Final Four this year will take place in Glendale, Arizona just outside of Phoenix. Championship games are always jam-packed with crowds.
The women’s tournament will hold its regional games in Albany, New York and Portland, Oregon, with the Final Four weekend in Cleveland.
And of course, we can’t forget about Las Vegas, a destination that thrives during big sporting events. Given the length of the tournament over several weeks, March Madness is always a win for Las Vegas.
That opening weekend is often on the travel wish list of many sports fans to experience at least once in Las Vegas. Games start on Thursday and last through Sunday night on the opening weekend, and Las Vegas has so much to offer sports fans four days and nights.
