All aboard. And that includes your vehicle.
To relieve travelers of stress associated with road trips
and flights, Amtrak has launched a fare sale on its iconic auto train, the only
such service in the U.S.
For a limited time, customers can avoid airport security
lines and 900 miles of tense I-95 driving by booking a Coach
Class ticket for as low as $34 per adult, $17 for kids ages 2-12, plus the
cost of the vehicle.
Train
travel is also one of the most sustainable modes of transportation. When
traveling on Amtrak, customers can decrease their greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions by up to 83 percent compared to driving and 72 percent compared to
flying.
The Auto Train offers daily, non-stop service between
Lorton, Virginia (near Washington, D.C.) and Sanford, Florida (near Orlando).
Customers can travel with several types of vehicles, including cars, vans,
motorcycles, SUVs, small boats, jet skis and more. ?
Customers traveling in Coach Class enjoy wide, comfortable
reclining seats with plenty of legroom, no middle seats and a big picture
window to enjoy the views. Cafe service is available for customers to purchase
meals, snacks and beverages. Before arrival, a complimentary continental
breakfast is served.
Travelers seeking extra comfort and privacy can book a First
Class private room offering priority boarding, complimentary meals onboard, a
dedicated First Class attendant and newly upgraded bedding, pillows, towels
and linens.
Accommodation options include a Roomette〞featuring two
comfortable seats that transform into upper and lower beds by night〞or a
Bedroom offering twice the space of a Roomette as well as an in-room sink,
restroom and shower.
The sale is valid from August 21-29, 2024 for travel between
September 9 and December 15, 2024, for travel on Train 52 (Sanford, Florida to Lorton, Virginia)
only. Restricted dates and other terms and conditions apply.
