“Our Canada and New England itineraries are designed to showcase the wonders of the region—from its breathtaking national parks and storied lighthouses to its rich French heritage,” says Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and itinerary planning for Holland America Line. “Guests can experience magnificent French culture without ever leaving North America, all while enjoying a front-row seat to the stunning fall foliage that makes this part of the world unforgettable.”
The new nine-day “Lighthouses & Harbors of Canada and New England” itinerary aboard Volendam, for instance, will depart October 2, 2027, and sail from Montréal to New York City. Along the way, travelers will have a chance to visit up to 10 lighthouses and participate in 22 shore excursions, with stops in ports like Halifax, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; and Bar Harbor, Maine.
Another highlight is the 10-day “Canada & New England Circle: New France and Montreal” itinerary, which sails round trip from Montréal. It will take guests to Québec City; Saguenay, Québec; Prince Edward Island; St. Pierre; and St. John’s, Newfoundland. The 11-day “Canada & New England Circle: Maritimes and New France” itinerary, meanwhile, includes visits to five national parks as it sails from Montréal to Boston.?
Onboard the ships, guests can enjoy regional dishes like Maine lobster, PEI mussels and Boston baked beans. Guests can also indulge in a poutine bar, Boston cream pie, along with New England steak and clam chowder on embarkation day. And, when departing Québec, guests can attend a locally inspired cheese and wine celebration.?
