An extremely
active hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin could push gasoline to $4 a
gallon or more, forecasters
say.

Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan says it*s a game of chance.
"That's
why for the month of August our projection is that we could either see prices
lower in August if supplies continue to build, or we could see a brief blip. If
we do see a major hurricane, it is still possible that the national average
could jump close to $4,§ he said. ※# A major hurricane certainly could impact
prices.§
That is not good for the tourist season, and forecasters at Colorado State University and the National Weather Center are
predicting a busy hurricane season.?
※Any major
storm going into the Gulf of Mexico certainly would be bad news,§ De Haan said.
