The vessel, meanwhile, was able to maintain its regular schedule and headed to Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras, for a port call on Tuesday.

The 5,374-guest Carnival Jubilee is the newest vessel in the lines fleet, having made its debut in late December. It departed from Galveston on Sunday for a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise.
This is far from the first time a cruise ship has helped rescue stranded people. In December, crew aboard Carnival Vista saved six men whose cargo vessel had capsized near the Dominican Republic. In August, Carnivals ship Mardi Gras rescued a couple from a sailboat in the Bahamas and, in April, Carnival Spirit rescued 24 people near the Dominican Republic.
