Celebrity Cruises announced on May 17 that its ship, Celebrity Edge, embarked on its first roundtrip to Alaska from Seattle for a seven-night Dawes Glacier itinerary.
The ship, which is unique in its outward-facing design to maximize guests' viewing experience, is planned to make stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway during its first seven-day voyage.
From May through September 2024, The Celebrity Edge will sail roundtrip from Seattle and one-way between Vancouver and Seattle on six- and seven-night journeys.
"There's no better way to see the pristine Alaskan wilderness than onboard Celebrity Edge, which was specifically designed to create a closer connection between guests and destinations," President of Celebrity Cruises Laura Hodges Bethge said.?
"Our elevated vacation options are redefining travel, especially in this region," Bethge Continued.
A Variety of Accommodations and Things to Do
Guests on Celebrity Edge will enjoy stunning views of their surroundings with the Magic Carpet viewing platform, which allows them to see the picture-esque scenery in comfort.
The itineraries also provide ample opportunities for guests to view whales and eagles from the ship and bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, deer, moose, and wolves on excursions to places like Ketchikan and the Endicott Arm.
Accommodations for the itineraries include rooms that range from two-story Edge Villas with plunge pools to staterooms with Infinite Verandas.
The ship contains 29 restaurants, bars, and lounges,?the menus of which are globally inspired and crafted by Michelin-starred chefs. It also contains? 'The Grand Plaza,' a three-story meeting place inspired by the plazas of Italy that houses several restaurants, including The Grand Plaza Cafe, Cafe al Bacio, and a martini bar.
In addition, the ship is also home to 'The Retreat,' which is exclusive to suite guests and contains a private restaurant and exclusive lounge with a dedicated team of butlers, attendants, and concierges on hand.
