Celebrity Cruises fifth Edge Series ship, debuting in 2025, celebrated its steel-cutting ceremony November 7 and got its name: the Celebrity Xcel.?
The sister ship to the upcoming Celebrity Ascent, which makes its inaugural sailing later this month, the Celebrity Xcel is being built in Chantiers de lAtlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.?
The ship celebrated its steel-cutting ceremony with members of Royal Caribbean Group and Celebrity Cruises, a ceremony which signals the beginning of its construction. The ship will debut in November 2025 in the Caribbean, offering 7-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas, Mexico, Cayman Islands, St. Maarten and more.?
Itineraries for the ship are on sale now. ?
Celebrity Xcel will offer The Retreat, an expanded Rooftop Garden and Resort Deck, a multi-level Sunset Bar, a three-story Grand Plaza and the return of Celebritys Magic Carpet. More details will be released at a later date.?
