Disney Cruise Line accepted the delivery of its newest cruise ship, the Disney Treasure, on October 24 ahead of its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024.?
The ship, which is themed after some of Disneys most adventurous movies, including Aladdin, The Lion King and Coco, began being constructed in January 2023 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
It underwent its first sea trials in September.?
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the delivery ceremony was held in Eemshaven, Netherlands. The ceremony, like the keel-laying ceremony, is a maritime tradition signaling the transfer of ownership from the shipbuilders to the cruise line.?
The Disney Treasure can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers across its 1,256 staterooms. Its maiden voyage, which begins on December 21, will set sail from Port Canaveral on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
The ships first cruise season will offer 7-night voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.?
