Disney Cruise Line has announced the expansion of its fleet with four new ships that will launch between 2027 and 2031.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro made the surprise announcement Saturday night during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
The new ships will join the fleet’s five others currently sailing, along with four others already under construction.
D’Amaro also revealed new details about signature entertainment coming to two of the ships already in the works —?the Disney Treasure and the Disney Destiny.
The Disney Destiny, which launches in November 2025, will debut the signature musical production “Disney Hercules,” based on the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
D’Amaro also shared concept art from a new stage show debuting on the Disney Treasure, which sails its maiden voyage in November of this year. The Treasure will debut a new stage production called “Disney The Tale of Moana,” featuring a 15-foot-tall puppet of Te Kā, the largest ever created for a Disney Cruise Line show, D’Amaro told the audience.

On Friday at D23, Disney Cruise Line also revealed crew member costume designs for two new venues coming to the Disney Treasure — Haunted Mansion Parlor, inspired by the classic theme park attraction, and Periscope Pub, inspired by Walt Disney’s 1954 film “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the attraction it inspired.

Designed by Senior Costume Designer with Disney Live Entertainment, Josh Winchester, who also created uniforms for the Disney Wish, the costumes take primary inspiration from the original park attractions and films that inspired the spaces but introduce elements distinctive to Disney Cruise Line.
