Disney officials revealed Thursday that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is opening ahead of schedule on May 31 at Disneyland Resort in California and August 29 at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.
Guests arriving for the opening of Phase 1 of the theme lands will be able to live their own Star Wars story through an immersive set of events and attractions, including the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride, galactic food and beverages, a collection of merchant shops and more.
When Phase 2 of the launch opens later this year at both Disney parks, visitors will be able to enjoy Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and blur the lines between fantasy and reality.
The decision to open the themed land in phases comes after the tremendous demand from fans clamoring to witness and enjoy the one-of-a-kind experiences that make Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge so spectacular.
To enjoy the Star Wars festivities at Disneyland, travelers will need a valid theme park admission and a no-cost reservation, subject to availability.

As for those visiting Disney World, a valid theme park admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios is required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge after its opening on August 29. The themed land will also be open during Extra Magic Hours.
