One of these is AB Expeditions, who operate hikes and trips throughout the Cusco region. Owners Abel Quillahuaman and Elsa Turpo once worked as porters on the Inca Trail, where they themselves earnt small wages and had to carry immense loads.?
Now they are doing their part to increase minimum wages for local workers with various social projects. This includes operating their own culturally-immersive tours, which give tourists the most complete experience hiking along the Inca Trail.
