IHG Hotels & Resorts luxury and lifestyle portfolio, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, will be entering Hawaii for the first time with Kauais Coco Palms Resort, A Kimpton Resort.?
The resort will be redesigned and will reopen in 2026. Located in Wailua along the scenic Kauai shoreline, the resort is owned by Reef Capital Partners and has welcomed famous guests such as Elvis Presley and Rita Hayworth. Its restoration is guided by Native Hawaiian advisors to ensure an authentic Hawaiian resort experience, offering 350 rooms and cottages.?
The resort will feature a 15-acre coconut grove, an onsite spa, three swimming pools, several restaurants and bar concepts and more. Itll also continue the resorts torch-lighting ceremony and Kimpton favorites, like morning and tea service, the evening Kimpton Social, in-room yoga mats and a pet-friendly approach.?
The resort will be Kimptons flagship resort on the west coast. Prior to this, it remained in neglect following the 1992 Hurricane Iniki. When it opens, Coco Palms, A Kimpton Resort will also feature an onsite cultural center and museum about Kauai, which will serve both residents and guests.?

In May, IHG Hotels & Resorts announced three new resorts coming to Turks & Caicos, expected to open in 2027. The three resorts include an InterContinental resort, a Kimpton resort and a Hotel Indigo property.?
