In 2026, travelers will have an opulent new space to unwind before and after their flights at one of the?busiest airports?in the United States.
Airport lounge company Plaza Premium just announced plans to build two vast new spaces in the new Terminal One building at New York JFK. The new spaces will include a Plaza Premium First lounge beyond the security checkpoint, as well as a Plaza Premium lounge located outside security that will welcome arriving fliers.?
Both lounges will feature modern design, luxury amenities, and gourmet dining options. The Plaza Premium First lounge will measure 9,300 square feet and be open 24 hours a day. In addition to comfortable seating areas, the First lounge will offer la carte dining, cocktails from a dedicated bar area, and the Infinity Rooma lounge-within-a-lounge concept reserved for invited guests, such as those flying first or business class with certain airline partners. Walk-in guests can also purchase access to the Infinity Room for an added fee.
The Plaza Premium lounge will be located pre-security in the arrivals hall. Its 4,200 square feet of space will be designed to welcome a wide variety of visitors, including arriving guests seeking a refresh or shower before heading into the city, friends and family spending quality time with a departing loved one before check-in, or early arrivals looking for a comfortable place to relax, work, or freshen up before their flight, the company said. Amenities will include showers, a business center, restaurant-quality food, and a full bar.
The new Terminal One building will have a total of six lounges; however, the two Plaza Premium spaces will be the only lounges that are not run by airlines. Anyone can buy a day pass or membership to access Plaza Premium lounges, though some premium travel rewards credit cards offer a membership as an included perk.
"We are delighted to partner with Plaza Premium Group, a global innovator renowned for reimagining airport hospitality," said Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One. "Their lounge offerings align perfectly with our mission to create an unparalleled guest experience that is tailor-made for international customers flying out of JFK, the nation's largest global gateway."
When JFKs new Terminal One opens in 2026, it will house operations for 18 international airlines, including?Qatar Airways,?Turkish Airlines, and Korean Air, all of which have announced plans for lavish new lounges inside the terminal.
