The Fourth of July holiday is synonymous with fireworks, and Walt Disney World wants travelers to visit Orlando to celebrate the holiday in explosive style.
At the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney will host the Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky event, which will be a two-nights-only show on July 3 and 4 at 9:15 p.m. local time. The park will also feature dance parties in Frontierland and Tomorrowland and a live show featuring The Muppets reenacting famous moments in American history.
For Disney visitors who prefer Epcot, the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show will take place July 4 at 9 p.m. In addition, the Voices of Liberty a cappella group will perform at the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m.
Star Wars fans will also be treated to an Independence Day surprise, as Disney's Hollywood Studios will host the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular nighttime experience. With state-of-the-art projection effects, dynamic lighting and lasers, guest will be immersed in the iconic scenes from the film franchise at 10 p.m. on July 4.
Visitors will be looking to fill their bellies before enjoying the festivities, and Disney World has a plethora of patriotic treats to choose. Some of the choices include Fourth of July cupcakes at Creature Comforts and Isles of Java in the Animal Kingdom, a red-white-and-blue coconut macaroon dipped in white chocolate at BoardWalk Bakery at the BoardWalk Resort and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse mini-domes at Amorette's at Disney Springs.
Guests staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will also be treated to several special events, including a 5K run on July 3, a golf cart parade on July 4 and the Fourth of July Beach Bash at Clementine's Beach.
